Today was the end of summer Lotus Club trackday. As always a great turnout. The weather was perfect, not too hot and no rain. The new brake pads and new soft compound A032’s really transformed the car. With the old brakes, I felt they went off after several laps but with the EBC greens I could brake deeper and harder. Much more fun. Of course the new rubber also helped.
At one point during the day I was dicing with a BWM M3. He would pull away on the straights and I would catch in the turns. I could get very close, and I mean close, but since this is a track day not a race no passing in the corners. Eventually he let me by and I walked away from him. After the session I found him in the paddoc and we both agreed that it was a lot of fun. We both had passenger for that session and they swapped stories of how close we were in the corners and evenly matched the cars where throughout the circuit.
On the downside, the diff is leaking again and their seems to be a gearbox leak. But that will wait until next week.
