May 17 is Constitution Day in Norway. It’s the essential National day holiday, like our 4th of July. One of my co-workers and his wife kindly asked me to join them to watch a parade and have lunch on the water.
The day starts at 7 am with explosions. Fortunately people at work had warned me about them! Apparently it used to be traditional to fire canons, but not they just use dynamite.
There were two parades in our town. The morning parade at 9 involves all the school children, walking with their classs. Bands are sprinkled throughout the parade. This has been at tradition for a long time,
