Brass Sorting

One of the issues I’ve had with reloading over the years is sorting out cases from manufacturers that I’ve deemed bad. I had a design of a brass sorting machine in my head and I’ve been working on some of the software for awhile. The big challenge had been getting some sort of optical recognition to work reliably.

I’d almost given up when I stumbled upon a github project, AI-CASE-SORTER

I built the first version of the machine, CS 7.0, and it worked OK. It would jam on occasion and I really didn’t have the right computer to run it.

Fast forward a few months and Seth updated the design and all the software to CS7.1. I reprinted all the parts and it’s up and running with fairly good reliability. I’ve sorted several thousand rounds now and it’s become part of my brass prep process.
