Our first date was shooting with some friends. Over the years we’ve shot Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, Practical Pistol, IDPA, USPA, an 3-Gun.

2024-01-27 Jim shoots Limited Optics, Dundee USPSA

I shot my 2nd match in Limited Optics. My Atlas Chaos was sitting in the safe doing nothing so I had Burgass Machine Works build a LO top end for me. It’s fantastic and a lot of fun. Next month it’s back to open

The disappearing star on the 3rd stage cost a little over 2 seconds. I should have taken the Miss. To compound the problem, I didn’t clean the mag that dropped in the mud and had a malfunction on the next stage. Doh!

2023 US IPSC Nationals

Nov 17, 2023

This was my first IPSC match and, other than the rain, I had a great time. The 3-2-1 format kept things interesting and left no place to hide.

The rain was a real challenge. At stage 7 we were about 3 hours behind schedule on the one day Friday format. After the rain stopped around stage 10, we hustled through and finished the match as the sun set on stage 17. Stage 17 had a swinger protected by no shoot steel. I was one of the early shooters on the squad and it was difficult to see.

Brass Sorting

One of the issues I’ve had with reloading over the years is sorting out cases from manufacturers…

Club match. Kept up with the local 20 year old heat on a couple stages. Totally blew the classifier.
