2023 USPSA Open/PCC Nationals
Nationals performance wasn’t what I wanted but it was what I deserved. Multiple penalties on stage 7 (FTSA and 2M) from a mental error cost a lot in the results. I ended up 125 of 275 and 9th Senior.
This was my first year checking the Senior box and I was invited to shoot on a squad with some of the best Senior shooters. I had a great time on the squad and hope to do it again.

I played match director for this match. I ended up shooting most of the stages on staff day and 2 during the main match.
2023-06-17 Jim shoots CO
Last match before Carry Optics Nationals.
I made a rookie mistake on the last stage and didn’t top off my mags and it cost me about 3 places. Ugh. My excuse is I only had so many rounds of my match ammo and was juggling it into the mags I was using for the last stage. I goofed.
Reloads still need work, see the first stage. Another error that cost a couple positions.
1 week and back to Open

2023 Inland Empire USPSA Sectional
The Inland Empire Sectional is always a fun and challenging match and this year the team put in another fantastic match.
My match was plagued with misses and me not respecting steel. I know how to fix these problems I just need to do it. I finished 17 of 44 in open with my best finish of the day was a 3rd on stage 4.

2023 USPSA Area 6 Championship
This year I decided to shoot the USPSA Area 6 Championship. This was a fantastic match and it’s highly recommended. The stages were interesting and a nice challenge. I got meet some old friends, meet people I only knew online, and made some new friends.
Day 1 started a bit rough with a silly mistake. I didn’t seat my magazine on Make Ready and it cost me 3 seconds. For the rest of the day I wasn’t respecting steel or distance targets. Day 2 was a completely different match for me. My points were much better, movement was better, and I respected the steel. My best stage of the match was the end of day 2 on stage 12 at 85%.
My finish was a respectable 25 of 90 in Open and second Senior in Open.
